On the 3rd of October an airworthiness directive was sent out from the FAA regarding cracks found in a component known as a “pickle fork” in a few Boeing 737NG aircraft that were being rebuilt from passenger aircraft into Freighter-aircraft.
What does this actually mean? Is it dangerous and what is a “pickle fork” anyway?
