The first phase of a development project at King County International Airport-Boeing Field (KBFI) has been completed, with the opening of a new ramp and a 40,000-square-foot climate-controlled hangar.
The second phase of the project is underway. It’s adjacent to the new hangar and has a targeted completion date of May 2021, according to officials with Modern Aviation, an FBO on the field.
This phase will bring an additional 24,000 square feet of hangar space and 7,000 square feet of office space to the company’s FBO campus. Once complete, these additional hangars will bring the total capacity up to 100,000 square feet across four hangars.
Serving small commercial passenger airlines, cargo carriers, and private aircraft owners, King County International Airport-Boeing Field is one of the nation’s busiest non-hub airports.
This is the second project that Business Aviation Group, an aviation consulting firm, and Modern Aviation have undertaken together. They are also collaborating to offer 50,000 square feet of FBO office and hangar space at Centennial Airport (KAPA) in Denver Colorado.
