A call has been put out for for volunteer pilots for a planned airlift of school supplies in Richmond, Virginia.
The airlift has a double mission: Collecting school supplies for less fortunate children in central Virginia, as well as inspiring students toward general aviation and STEM careers, according to organizers.
Organizers are asking general aviation pilots to meet at the Virginia Department of Aviation with donated school supplies on Aug. 7, 2021, at 9 a.m.
“Safety is the number 1 priority for flight operations and logistical information will be released closer to the event date,” organizers noted.
Anyone interested in participating with either their aircraft or to donate school supplies is encouraged to contact event organizer Andrew Crider at [email protected].
